After many years evangelizing, Brother Owings felt the need for a church where people in his own community could be taught the Word of God. The first Jesus Life Tabernacle was established in a small, 50-seat church located in Boomer, NC. Soon after inception, this building was filled beyond capacity and the need for a bigger church was realized.

In 1977-1978, Jesus Life Tabernacle was built on a large tract of land beside Hwy. 18 South, Moravian Falls, NC. Most people who pass by the church and grounds first notice the Prayer Tower. This octagonal-shaped building was constructed for the sole purpose of prayer. When climbing the winding staircase to the upper room, the overwhelming feeling of rising closer to God permeates the soul.

In 1982, an office/fellowship hall was built. The downstairs office area includes the Tape/Production Room where CD's of the recorded services are stored. Associate Pastor, Kevin Brinegar produces the CD-Of-The-Month Club. Many people from all over the United States are members of the CD-Of-The-Month Club and receive these exclusive messages each month that bless and enrich their lives. The fellowship hall is located upstairs in this building and is where the church members gather for special occasions and meals.

Jesus Life Tabernacle became Jesus Life Worship Center in 2002. Members are scattered near and far. Some drive from as far away as Charlotte, Mooresville, Kannapolis, Bristol, Va. and Mountain City, Tenn. to attend Sunday worship services. If asked why they drive so far just to attend church, they would tell you it’s because Jesus Life Worship Center is not a common church.
