Piedmont CASA recruits, trains, supervises and empowers community volunteers to advocate in court for abused and neglected children.
Piedmont Court Appointed Special Advocates, Inc., (CASA), trains community volunteers to advocate in court on behalf of abused and neglected children. Approximately 700 children are referred to local departments of social services every year due to abuse and neglect. Every year, Piedmont CASA serves over 200 of these children who require court intervention to keep them safe. No other organization or individual provides free advocacy services for the children, assuring that their voices are heard and needs are met by our local courts and the child welfare system. Our goal is to serve every abused and neglected child referred to us by the courts, helping to assure that the children are safe and have the opportunity to live and thrive in permanent, nurturing homes. When you lift up a child's voice, you lift up a child's life.
