The Cane Cutters are collegiate wooden bat team and a member of the Texas Collegiate League. Our NCAA players are currently on a college roster and represent the region's best amateur talent.
The Acadiana Cane Cutters are one of seven member teams in the Texas Collegiate League. The league was established in 2003, featuring clubs in both Texas and Louisiana, and allows college players with remaining eligibility to showcase their skills in a wholesome, minor league-type atmosphere.
In September of 2010, Richard Chalmers, with Baseball Ventures of Louisiana, LLC, announced the acquisition of the Acadiana Cane Cutters into the Texas Collegiate League. The TCL is a collegiate, summer baseball league designed to give the top professional prospects a chance to play in a minor-league baseball atmosphere while maintaining their amateur status. The team is owned by Richard & Sandi Chalmers and Russell & Karen Chalmers.
