We are committed to re-framing the dialogue around experiences of poverty, violence, trauma, and altered states of consciousness, by looking not at the individual experiencing these things as “broken,” but rather at the interconnections among people within the society as a whole, as always providing a context to human experience and emotional response. We hold the core value and belief that all individuals, regardless of their experience of distress, are entitled to the full rights, opportunities, and expectations for a meaningful life which are afforded to all others in society.
