Almost Home is a 100% NO KILL shelter located in Southfield, MI. We presently have 80+ dogs and cats who are looking for loving forever homes. We are a volunteer-based shelter and we rely on the good hearts of animal lovers to help us out.

We are made up of a group of dedicated volunteers. Without them, Almost Home Animal Rescue League would not exist.

This Facebook page is run by volunteers. We cannot always answer your phone calls or emails as quickly as you would like. Please continue to post on Facebook as our administrators check it often and will make sure your questions get to the right person. Let us know if you are not getting answers! We will do our best to get someone to respond.

To help care for the 80+ dogs and cats in our care, we are always in need of volunteers 7 days/week, 365 days/year. If you can volunteer at the shelter or for an event, please fill out the volunteer application located on our website: AlmostHomeAnimals.org

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR MANY OTHER THINGS:
...care for the dogs and cats at the shelter and at adoption events
...email event information and animals available for adoption to your list of contacts - you'd be surprised how this helps get animals adopted!!!
...make phone calls to the media and post on their event calendars to get our events announced
...give advice to people if you are knowledgeable about animals or specific breeds
...create products to sell at events
...make blankets and other items to help our animals be more comfortable

Almost Home Animal Rescue League is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to finding loving forever homes for homeless animals. Almost Home is a 100% no-kill shelter. We are strongly against the senseless act of euthanasia of adoptable animals and are continuously striving to make euthanasia a thing of the past.

For more detailed information about adopting or fostering any of the animals in our care, we ask that you visit us at the shelter and we'll answer your questions. Please complete an adoption application either online, at the shelter or at our adoption events. Make sure you put an animal's name you might be interested in on the application (applications are filed by animals' names, not by applicants' names)

We are not always available to reply to every application, so please follow up in person.

Monday-Friday 12:00-5:00pm
Saturday 1:30-5:00pm
Closed Sunday

Every other Saturday at Premier Pet Supply 1:30-4:30pm

A place where frightened animals need not be frightened. Where animals with special needs are not discriminated against.
