We are a non-sectarian, non-profit cooperative preschool in Prince William county, VA. We offer programs for children aged three and older, and we are ideal for parents looking for a high level of involvement in their child’s education.
The Alpha-Bet School was first organized as the Manassas Cooperative Preschool in the spring of 1967, and this year marks our 48th year in operation. The school was formed by members of other co-ops who had moved into the area. In January of 1968, the Manassas Cooperative Preschool became Alpha-Bet School, Inc. In the spring of 1993, the school received its license from the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Social Services. Our school is also a member of the Virginia Cooperative Preschool council. Alpha-Bet is a non-sectarian, non-profit school.
What is a Cooperative Preschool?
A cooperative preschool is owned and/or operated by a group of parents and staffed by professional teachers. Parents help the teachers in the classroom and contribute some of the daily work necessary to operate a successful school. We have highly dedicated and impeccably trained teaching staff to ensure your child's success.
At Alpha-Bet, a parent has dedicated time in the classroom each month and signs up to serve on a committee. Parents also make up our Board of Directors, which establishes the school’s policies and maintains school operations.
Through this parental involvement, the benefits are three-fold. Parental involvement demonstrates the family’s commitment to education, we offer low student to adult ratios, and tuition costs are kept low.
The cooperative preschool experience can be a very rewarding one for both you and your child. If your family wants a high level of involvement in your child’s preschool education, then Alpha-Bet is the school for you!
