This is freelance business that I have started in Two Harbors. Services include editing scholarly and non-scholarly documents, tutoring, and ACT prep.
I am offering an educational/professional service to the members of the Two Harbors community. My background as an editor comes from four years of working with The Cable, the official newspaper for The College of St. Scholastica. Three of those years included working as a section editor. I also received my Bachelor's Degree in English from St. Scholastica in May 2014.
High school students in the area, as well as college students who are looking for someone outside of their classroom to edit and provide helpful tips on improving their writing can access my services for $10 an hour. This includes basic grammar, punctuation, and spelling checks. If you are looking to have the content of your paper commented upon or any other services in addition to the basic rate, then there will an additional fee of $2.00 charged to the total amount, not per hour. Graduate student documents will assessed a rate of $25.00 per hour, as there is more to look for in graduate level documents. All other projects outside of the education system will also be accepted, and the rate will be negotiated on a case by case basis, not less than $10.00 an hour.
Additionally, I will also offer tutoring services in following subjects: Literature, Writing, Math through basic algebra, History, Music Theory, and Bible. Tutoring rates are $10.00 an hour per person, with no more than three people scheduled for an hour's time. Tutoring is available by appointment only, and must be scheduled three days in advance. Note that this will not be available on holidays or Sundays.
Finally, ACT and SAT test prep in the areas of Reading, Writing, and English will be offered, also at a rate of $10.00 per hour. For this, no more than two individuals can be scheduled per hour block, and this also an appointment only service, which will not be offered on holidays or Sundays.
