Apple Cart Fruit produces a large variety of organic fruit of exceptional quality; including: cherries, apricots, peaches, nectarines and apples.
Apple Cart Fruit is a sweet little orchard in north-central Washington state. We are located in Tonasket on a sunny south-facing slope on the Okanogan River.
Michael "Si" Simon has been farming here since 1975. It started as a seasonal apple picking job that in 1978 evolved into farm ownership.
Over time Michael has transitioned the orchard to organic certification and diversified crops, hand-crafting a long harvest of tree-ripened fruit.
Our harvest schedule goes something like this: expect red sweet cherries in early July. After cherries come apricots, then peaches and nectarines. In late August summer apples will start to ripen, then the big apple harvest runs through mid-October.
By winter our cooler will be full with boxes of apples. Some Golden Delicious will be dried into tasty apple chips. Many pounds of apples will be pressed into cider and sold hot and spiced at the local fair. Apples remain for sale through winter and early spring. Apple chips are available all year.
Apple Cart Fruit is proud to be a founding member of Okanogan Producers Marketing Association (OPMA). OPMA is a group of seven family farms that realized they could better succeed working together rather than apart. OPMA makes weekly deliveries throughout Washington State.
