The Artistic Relativity of Autistic Creativity

It is our belief that Autism and Gifted Artistic Creativity are very closely related, if not in some cases, exactly the same. Individuals gifted with Artistic Creativity are often labeled as Autistic due to their very similar tendancies and symptoms. Gifted Artists are often socially inept, not because of their INABILITY to relate to others, but because of their innate preference to introvert, rather than extrovert. They tend to thrive in creative arts, but lack in social skills. They do not feel the need to connect with other people in the "same" way most others do. Instead, they feel the need to express themselves through Art, and through their CREATION, we shall find our REALATION. We believe that these individuals should be encouraged, not discouraged. We should stop trying to bring them into OUR world, and instead, try to bring ourselves into THEIR world. Just because we dont understand THEM, doesnt mean they are disabled. Maybe the fact that we dont understand them, makes US disabled. The word "disabled" should be discarded altogether. Instead, think of us ALL as "differently-abled." We all have our own capabilities, and when we put them all together, they make a beautiful web of individual threads....

Maybe the pieces don't fit for a reason.
