Way back a long, long time ago, like around Saturday, Bill and Steve were sitting on the backporch sipping on some Jack Daniels, and eating some good ol’ fashioned bbq they freshly smoked that afternoon. They were talking about all the usual good things in life; music, sports, surfin’, fishin’, huntin’, wimmens, politics, and where they were gonna dig the swimming hole for next summer. Each one was thinking, dang, nothin’ gets better than this – well, maybe ‘cept for having all of our family and friends around us to share these good times.

Next thing you know one of their good buddies Sean stops by to visit a spell and tells them about a nice little chickenshack down the road that has some fine looking birds that needed to be eaten. Plus it had a good fridge in to hold our beers for the summer, and if we could scare up a grille to cook for the whole family and friends, they’d a come a runnin’. Not a bad idea! So they started chewing the fat some more and started to come up with some good BBQ foods and fresh fish and ways they could prepare it with love and share it with everyone.

As this group of good ol friends sauntered down to the Chickenshack, they heard the twangy sounds of a geetar, and heard the sounds of Memphis-style blues music. Not a whole lot more enticing than the smell of thick hickory/apple and cherry woods wafting thru the air along with a few solid licks and blues riffs on a 1956 Gibson. All we can do at this point is to join in and begin to sing along. Now he evening was really getting going. Now y’all know, you can’t have a good evenin out like this without some moonshine and our favorite local fisherman Captain Joe. He’s from down the way, and we had to get him to join us and bring down a case of PBR’s to reload the fridge.

This is how good friends, great ideas, and great concepts are made, and so Beachside Smokehouse was born. So, we have come up with what we believe is the best combination of true, authentic wood-smoked meats, southern-style soul food with great fresh seafood prepared in a family setting, with the best damn Blues, Rock-n-Roll and upbeat music you can find anywhere.
