Big Ed’s Firehouse

Big Ed’s Firehouse was established Aug 1st, 2011. One of my life’s ambitions has been to own my own restaurant. Now that I have finally achieved that, I am proud to serve some of the finest people in the world: my friends, family, neighbors and everyone else that I have the privilege to serve.

The name Big Ed’s Firehouse has 2 stories behind it. The first part is the Big Ed’s. When I was younger I used to go over to my neighbors and I was always kind and friendly towards his parents, but when it came to his younger brothers I liked to pick on them, similar to how Eddie Haskel behaved on the TV show “Leave it to Beaver”. Because of this, my neighbor started calling me Ed. It wasn’t until after I went through a major growth spurt that my nickname became “Big Ed”.

I call this my Firehouse because of my days on the New Hampton Fire Department. I served the New Hampton Community for 12 years. Some of my fondest memories were of times shared with fellow firefighters at the Fire Station. I hope to create that type of atmosphere here at Big Ed’s Firehouse.
