The CDE supports Air Force and DoD agencies in transitioning high energy lasers & high power microwaves to the battlefield through vigorous scientific & engineering research, graduate education programs, & diverse consulting activities.

CDE enables technologies focused on education, consulting, and advising.

Research: CDE research is focused on solving DoD research problems related to directed energy technologies and DoD applications.

Education: Pre-service and in-service short courses are offered with an emphasis on research to support education. Additionally, co-ops and internships offer opportunities to apply knowledge to relevant world situations.

Innovation: CDE strives to contribute to the DoD directed energy community through robust research solutions and delivery of products addressing critical DoD needs related to directed energy.
