The Central Coast Chapter holds to the traditions of AFCEA Int. by promoting educational events and local luncheons in California's Central Coast region.
The Central Coast Chapter is headquartered at Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) and services the Central Coast of California. VAFB, the third largest air force base in the US, is home to the Joint Functional Component Command for Space (JFCC SPACE), the Joint Space Operations Center (JSpOC), Headquarters, the 14th Air Force and the 30th Space Wing. It supports a population greater than 18,000 military, family members, contractors, and civilian employees and has a strong local aerospace contractor workforce.
The Chapter provides interchange of relevant technology and policy at quarterly “Lunch and Learn” events at VAFB and sponsors an annual Technology Expo. The Chapter also supports the local community through scholarship and grant programs, such as the annual grants to recognize outstanding local K-12 Science and Technology teachers, and assistance to outstanding students going onto technical degrees.
