Our Program:
Graded instruction including Training Chorus, Junior Choir, and Concert Choir. Advanced singers form small ensembles, enjoy opportunities for solo performance at concerts, and sing classical masterworks with Swarthmore College Chorus.
Music education emphasis on sight reading, understanding theory, hearing harmony, and appreciating musical artistry.
Special cultural and academic enhancement program for boys and young men; cultural field trips for all age-groups.
Music teaching program directed by John Alston, associate professor of music at Swarthmore College.
Seven to ten concerts each year in Chester, Swarthmore, communities on the Main Line, and elsewhere in the region.
Year round activities: school year rehearsals five days a week and a five-week, full-day Summer Learning Program with two to three hours of music daily plus reading, science, art, literature, history, hip-hop dancing, and African dance and drumming.
Most rehearsals, some performances, and all summer-program activities take place at Swarthmore College in the state-of-the-art Lang Music Building
