The Citizens' Hose Company No. 1 Inc. serves as the Smyrna Fire Company, which protects the community of Smyrna, DE.
The Citizens' Hose Company was founded on January 6, 1886. For over 125 years, the Citizens' Hose Company has prided itself with protecting the community of Smyrna. The Citizens' Hose Company is a completely volunteer fire company. The Citizens' Hose Company handles a wide variety of calls each year and is currently staffed with the following apparatus:

The pride of our fleet is a 1928 American LaFrance Type 145 Metropolitan; "Old Mom," and a 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Convertible. The Citizens' Hose Company is currently under the direction of President John Caldwell Sr. and Fire Chief J. Tate Coulbourne.
