City of Mount Vernon Police Department - Community Affairs Bureau - (914) 665-2500

The City of Mount Vernon is proud to introduce the MVPD Community Affairs Bureau, established to foster positive and productive police-community relations.

The Community Affairs Bureau was established to foster positive and productive police-community relations. By partnering with community leaders, civic organizations, block associations, and concerned individuals, we work to create solutions for problems that arise within the city's many communities.

Community Affairs initiatives have become an integral part of the department's strategy by raising community awareness through outreach and public service programs. It's impossible to enforce the law and maintain order without working in partnership with the community.

The Community Affairs Bureau will be hosting various focus groups with clergy, community organizations and police personnel in an effort to gather a resource of information to promote stronger relationships. The information received from these meetings and workshops will help to serve as a bridge to assist community affairs officers in developing, maintaining and forging new and better relationships with community members and the police department.
