The Norwich Fire Department provides fire prevention, fire suppression and rescue services utilizing full-time professional firefighters.
The department provides: fire suppresion, rescue services, emergency medical services, hazardous material incident mitigation, as well as other emergent and non-emergent services within the City Consolidated District, and surrounding areas as requested. We also provide fire code inspection, fire investigation, fire prevention services, and burn permits within the entire City of Norwich.
Headquarters;10 North Thames St, houses the offices of the Chief, Fire marshals, and Training and Safety; as well as 10 on-duty firefighters (6 Privates, 1 Battalion Chief, 1 Captain and 1 Lieutenant). Station 2; located at 446 North Main St, houses Engine Company 2 with three Privates and one Lieutenant.
