Founded in 1889, Whiting, Indiana is located on the Southern Shore of Lake Michigan. This cozy, small city has grown to offer residents, businesses and visitors big opportunities! Whiting has always been a center of the economy in Northwest Indiana, with its close ties to the refineries. Whiting’s premiere location on the lake coupled with proximity to Chicago has new businesses and even non-residents choosing to invest in this ever-thriving community.

Currently, the City is working on a number of projects related to revitalization of its down town areas, as well as massive lake shore renovations. These renovations will provide more economic opportunities in Whiting, and at the same time improve and increase the number of activities for residents and visitors!
