We are the DQ of West Garden Grove located on Valley View St & Lampson. We love ice cream & we love sharing our ice cream with the people of Orange County.
Derek & his wife Nora have owned the DQ of West Garden Grove since 2001. Derek loves ice cream and has always been a fan of the Turtle Pecan Blizzard. When he's not eating ice cream, he hikes in Long Beach, plays ping pong with his 3 kids, and practices Buddhist meditation for his spiritual well-being.
Derek is very active in his community and loves having fundraisers for local schools including Bell, Enders, Barker, Patton, & Pacifica. He also supports Boy Scouts and AYSO teams. Each year, he encourages the DQ Crew to fundraise for Children's Miracle Network. This year we raised $2,000 to donate to CHOC Hospital.
Derek makes huge efforts to be environmentally friendly by conserving water, and recycling cans and donating the proceeds to charities in the area. As an Ocean Friendly Restaurant of the Surfrider Foundation, he is also working on banning styrofoam and reducing plastic use in the store.
Derek is always open to new ideas and would love to hear from his valuable customers.
