I learned how to refurbish/reuphoster furniture about 8 yrs ago and have played around w the idea of owning my own business doing that for a living but never really took initiative to it. I was a single mother, realistically, I HAD to work. I couldn't just take time off to *see* if a daydream i had in my head, would work.

In fall of last yr (2014), We(my family)found out my grandmother had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It was then that I made the decision to move in with her to help care for her while she went through her chemo treatments. I needed to be home to help her with everyday things (cooking, cleaning, drs appts), so getting a job away from home wasn't really going to be an option. Yet, I needed income. For goodness sake, I had two kids to take care of on top of Maw maw at this point.
Well, It just so happened that my Pawpaw (who passed away in 2008) had all the tools one would need to start a woodworking type of shop, just sitting in the garage, wasting away.
So with the circumstances in place, I started the business. and yes, I came up with that name. Isn't it the cutest? LOVE IT!

My mother always told me that I needed to be doing something with my art/creativity for a living and I never listened to her. I always thought and pretty much told her that art wasn't a logical career and that artist don't make any money and that I'd never make any money doing that for a living. And let me tell you I was WRONG. You will flourish in what you excel in! Your passion will show in your work!

Art has always been a part of my life. From art lessons as a child to the gift art program throughout school(3rd-12th).
It feels amazing to be doing something I love so much and I am so passionate about, for a living! When I tell y'all, it doesn't even feel like work, I'm not lyin' ;)

So what I'm trying to say is momma was right!
