DeWayne is a native of Nassau, Bahamas and is a graduate of both Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business and Boston College Law School. He has completed two stints as a board member of the cooperative apartment building where he has resided for more than 20 years. He currently serves as an ex officio board member and immediate past president of his law school's black alumni network. He is also a member of the board of trustees and the capital campaign committee for the Hudson Area Library (Hudson, NY). DeWayne is interested in philanthropy and early care and education as tools for economic and social good. He has had a passport since he was in grade school and has traveled extensively abroad.
