We envision a thriving and just community in which Latinos are visible, welcome and empowered participants in all aspects of society. We are committed to social justice, empowerment, mutual respect, trust and continuous learning.

Main Programs

Basic Needs Assistance:
Through this vital program we offer 1-on 1 assistance, problem solving, case management, advocacy, hunger relief, free medical, legal and tax clinics, interpreting, information given in our office, at home visits, or by phone and referrals.

Community Education
We disseminate vital information about U.S. systems, laws, and resources via newsletters, community events, trainings and outreach.

Income Development Center:
Located in our office, the IDC was created to facilitate the meaningful employment of local and regional high school and college graduates, unemployed, underemployed and dislocated persons, to encourage the creation of new employment through entrepreneurship, mentorships, successions, co-operative creation. We have gathered a comprehensive network of local and regional partners to provide expertise, training, services and referrals.

Assistance to Victims of Crime or Fraud:
Established in 1997 to help victims of crime understand and access the criminal justice system. Our staff is on-call 24/7 to local law enforcement agencies to assist Spanish-speaking victims. We offer case-management, emotional support, interpreting services, resource referral, court advocacy, and transportation. Some of the main crimes that we address are robbery, domestic violence, child abuse, assault, and neglect and fraud.

Youth Leadership and Gang Prevention Program:
Established in 2002, the Youth Program offers opportunities for Latino youth to attend trainings, educational events, and perform community service. The program’s goal is to address the special risk factors that lead Latino youth to join gangs by offering positive alternatives to gang membership, and help Latino youth develop the skills and knowledge they need in order to grow into successful, civically engaged community members.

Food Pantry:
We partner with the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle to host a twice-monthly food pantry. We give out fresh produce and boxed goods to needy families on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday of every month.
