EnduranceMD was created by Dr. Steven E. Mayer as a sports medicine educational resource for endurance athletes.

Dr. Steven E. Mayer is a board certified Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist with a special interest in endurance medicine.

He practices with Cadence Physician Group Orthopaedics which is now part of Northwestern Medicine in the Chicagoland area. He is an avid triathlete and a fitness and nutrition enthusiast. He has competed in sprint, olympic, and Ironman 70.3 distance triathlons, as well as half and full marathon distances. He understands the unique medical needs of endurance athletes as well as their motivation.

Dr. Mayer serves as the Team Physician for Experience Triathlon in Chicago and as the Medical Director for the ET Batavia Triathlon and Duathlon. He is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, Medicine of Cycling, and the International Institute for Race Medicine.

Dr. Mayer, through EnduranceMD, hopes to share his experience and knowledge to help multisport athletes learn more on how to prevent, treat, and rehabilitate injuries.
