Overview
The Fessenden Summer English Language Learning Program is a unique English immersion program for English Language Learners. For five weeks, 45 boys and girls between the ages of 10–15 years old become a close-knit, family-like community. The multi-cultural environment presents priceless opportunities for students to learn about different countries and customs while strengthening their English abilities.
Academic Classes
On weekday mornings, students engage in classes taught by our team of language specialists with class sizes of 8 or less. Our academic curriculum challenges students at their specific levels, empowering them to demonstrate progressively greater competencies in the speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English.
Enrichment Programs
On weekday afternoons, students participate in a variety of programs designed for students to communicate with classmates and facilitators while working toward a common goal using English. Programs include, but are not limited to: Photography and Digital Journaling, Art, Environmental Science, Cooperative Team Building and Language Games, Video Production, and Understanding Today's World.
Residential Life
Dorm life incorporates games and activities using our state-of-the-art facilities. Our 41-acre campus includes tennis courts, playing fields, swimming pools, gymnasiums, computer labs, as well as a movie theater. Dorm parents supervise and facilitate weekend trips in the Boston area. Our “traveling classroom” takes students on a long weekend camping trip in New Hampshire, as well as a long weekend in New York City. Please view the following links for more information.
