The staff at First Steps believes that parents are the most important adults in a child's life. In order to best serve your child's needs, we encourage open communicattion between parents, the owner, the director and the teachers.
We believe in the uniqueness of individuals. We provide appropriate activities that enhance children's personal growth, thinking skills and allow development of their natural curiosity and imagination. Children are encouraged to participate in self-directed and group play. We challenge them to solve problems and allow them to make mistakes. Through providing positive reinforcement we assist children in gaining confidence, independence, respect for themselves and others, skills in sharing, taking turns, socialization and ways in which to adjust to life situations without anger or violence.
The Owner and Director each have 20 plus years of experience in child development. The teachers are carefully selected so as to meet the appropriate developmental needs as well as early education of each child. The children are given personal and individualized attention according to their needs.
