In 2000 I started playing with beading. After seeing al the beautiful lampwork beads out there and how very expensive they were, I said to myself, "hmmm, I can make these myself." And so it began. I started in my kitchen with a very small canister torch and off I went. Melting glass quickly became an obsession leaving me working 12 - 16 hours a day. Sometimes waking up in the middle of the night because an idea came to mind and I could not wait to try it. Well after moving from the Kitchen to the basement I decided to open my shop in Winsted in 2002.

My 12 torch studio was an amazing place but a decision to move to Maine for my daughter to attend private school forced me to close my doors. I do not regret the decision to go north for one moment being she received an exceptional education. So it was well worth it!

In 2004 I started pounding silver. As with all artist from time to time you lose your "edge" and can't come up with a single idea. I had put so much torch time in, I learned everything I could possibly learn (or so I thought) and felt there was no where for me to go further with my glass. This is when I found out I not only had this hidden talent of melting glass but also have the ability to create silver and gold jewelry sometimes incorporating my glass and precious gemstones into my work. This I did out of a studio on my property in Maine, selling my goods to shops along the coast. My Daughter Jordin graduated and went off to college local and remained home until 21 years of age. When she took her last item out of the house to move closer to school and work I knew it was time for me to return to my roots in Winsted, CT and give it another go. So here I am 14 years later starting all over again.

The whole fingerprint keepsake jewelry came to me when someone I know daughter had a child. It took off like a rocket and I have more and more orders coming in every day. This being one of my absolute FAVORITE pieces to make!! They mean so very much to the ones who hold them!! I feel blessed to be the one creating them.
