The Friends of Tamarac NWR is a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to facilitate activities and programs that interpret, protect and restore the natural and cultural resources of the Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge.
Established more than 20 years ago, this nonprofit group is made up an an active 17-member board and over 200 members. The Friends sponsor educational programs and events, generate thousands of grant dollars for water quality and habitat projects, host a popular nature photography contest, and so much more. We are an advocate for wildlife refuges and passionate about protecting wild places for generations. The volunteers of Tamarac Refuge donate over 7,000 hours of service each year.
