The UC Friends of the Library are a not-for-profit group, which is dedicated to helping the library grow and improve its services.

Who are the Friends of the UC Library?
The UC Friends of the Library are a not-for-profit group, which is dedicated to helping the library grow and improve its services. The Friends operate the used bookstore in the building adjacent to and behind the library.

Interested in a new library facility?!
The Friends of the Universal City Public Library have set up a fund specifically for a new building. If you're interested in donating, please write a check to Friends of the Universal City Library and in the memo line, notate "Library Building Fund."

Also, the Friends are going to be compiling a book of creative writing by Universal City residents to be published. The proceeds will go to the Library Building Fund.

We, the Friends of the Universal City Library would like to raise money. Funds will be used to help support the existing library, bring the need for a new library to light, and nurture the love of reading and the enjoyment of writing.

Do the Friends raise money?
The Friends conduct fund-raisers to buy needed items for the library. Proceeds from the sale of books at the used bookstore along with memorial/honor gifts also go to support the library. The bookstore is open 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturdays.

What volunteer work do the Friends do?
The Friends' operate the used bookstore, work as library volunteers, and perform other tasks as requested by the library staff and the Library Advisory Commission.

Each year the Friends give over 1,000 hours of their time in service to the Universal City Public Library.
