Helena’s Frontier 4x4 Club is dedicated to family friendly and environmentally conscious 4 wheeling.
Frontier 4x4 is a 4-wheel drive club dedicated to family fun, conservation and enjoying our great back yard here in Montana. Of course, our primary reason for being is the enjoyment of our hobby. WHEELING! Our hobby takes us to some of the most beautiful back country locations in Montana in the summer. In the winter, we go places most would think only as snowmobile can get to. Part of the fun is learning how to get our rigs safely up some of the roughest roads in the area or traveling for miles on top of 3,4,5 feet of snow. Hey...getting stuck in the snow can actually be fun! You may just have to take my word on this for now though. :)
Many of our member’s daily drivers are also their wheeling rigs so we are not about tearing up our vehicles. Wheeling such as we do does have it’s inherent risks but you can do this hobby without damage with a little common sense, some experience and the correct equipment. Learning how to do these things is another one of the great benefits to joining a club such as Frontier 4x4.
We follow the tenants of the Tread Lightly Program to get where we are going with as little evidence of our passing as possible and like to pick up trash along the way to leave the area better than we found it. We also do occasional conservation projects to help correct and mitigate damage caused by us or others passing through our public lands.
If you:
1. Have a trail ready 4x4 (or would like to know if your rig is trail ready).
2. Would like to spend time with others who enjoy 4x4s and 4 wheeling.
3. Would like to visit places in Montana most never get to see.
4. Would like to learn more about how to safely 4x4 in rocks, dirt, mud and snow.
5. Want a family friendly venue for enjoying 1 through 4...
Then maybe you should look into our club. We meet on the first Wednesday of every month in the meeting room at the back of the Staggering Ox Restaurant. We meet at 7:00pm. We don’t care what kind or 4x4 your have...just that it is trail ready. Among our member’s rigs are Fords, Chevy, Jeeps, Toyotas, International Harvester (yes, really!) and even a Suzuki. Heck, you should see Mike’s monster tube buggy sometime...that’s cool. We do monthly club trail rides and many members are out more often than that. So, have I covered all your excuses for not joining us yet? Come on! You know you want to!
(Please note: Frontier 4x4 is a non-profit organization which derives it’s income from membership dues and donations. Liking our facebook page does not constitute joining our organization. There are some minor requirements and yearly dues for joining the Frontier 4x4 Club.) Frontier members are also proud members of the United Four Wheel Drive Associations as well as other organizations.
