The name of the little operation my son and I have formed may be misleading. Furtop Hand-Painted Guitars isn't called Furtop because of our use of leopard, zebra and cheetah fur designs, but because Signal Mountain, where we live, used to be called "Furtop" by the first settlers. It became Signal Mountain following the Civil War, after a point on the mountain was used for signaling by the Union forces.
