Generation 1st Degree Pico Rivera is an ambitious campaign with one goal: to have at least one child in every Pico Rivera home earn a college degree.
The City of Pico Rivera has partnered with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), LEARN, The Gilbert & Jacki Cisneros Foundation, local institutions of higher learning, and El Rancho High School, in an effort to increase the number of eligible Hispanic college graduates from our community.
Together, we want to create a generation of college-bound students, where every home in Pico Rivera has at least one family member graduate with a college degree. When one person in a family earns a college degree, it paves the ways for others in the family-and in the community-to know it's possible.
If we can encourage and aid an older brother or sister to graduate from college, they will be a springboard to help others take the same journey. From one comes many.
