The HWIFC Cancer Research Group is a not-for-profit research organization that formed 3 years ago as a result of a growing desire to understand the root of this disease.
The focus of our research is to better understand, interrupt, and ultimately halt its progression. It is a strong passion of the CRG to investigate the biochemical mechanisms involved with cancer progression and to develop individual treatment strategies that have an impact on the immune system at the cellular level.
Our current research at CRG involves harvesting essential elements of the immune system and enhancing their cancer fighting properties on an individual basis. The identification, isolation and development of immune enhancing cell lines in order to improve an individual’s cancer fighting capability, including cellular surveillance, immune-editing and augmentation is our current focus.
We are investigating the use of autologous peptide and cytokine-based vaccines in combination with intravenous immunotherapy to upregulate the immune system on a multitude of levels.
