The word doula is a Greek word meaning women’s servant. Women have been serving other women in childbirth for many centuries and have proven that support from another woman has a positive impact on the labor process. Studies have shown that when doulas attend birth, labors are shorter with fewer complications, babies are healthier and they breastfeed more easily.

I am new to Central Illinois and happy to support you as you grow your family. After finishing my Master’s in Public Health I followed my husband to start a life in Normal. Since graduating my focus has shifted from the needs of mothers in Southern India to realizing similar needs of mothers stateside. Seeing a need I wanted to help—becoming a birth doula was the clear answer.

I’m happy to provide emotional, physical and informational support to mothers who are expecting. To ensure you have a safe, memorable and empowering birthing experience I am happy to support you in any labor path you have chosen–natural, at home, medicated, even cesarean.
