After working as a soils and foundations engineer in Kansas City for one of the largest and most prestigious engineering firms in the nation, HNTB, Edwin King made his way back to his hometown to join the entrepreneurial world and start his own company with his wife, Jackie. Whether they were paid for their services with a bag of apples, fish, a quilt or monetary payment, Mr. and Mrs. King believed if they built an engineering firm that strived for technical excellence and innovation, while always serving his clients’ needs they would make it through the first couple stressful years of building their own business.

Thirty-nine years later, King Engineering, Inc. is a respected and renowned engineering and surveying and mapping firm that offers its services in two states, Illinois (KE North) and Florida (KE South). We have successfully completed thousands of projects that encompass design, inspection, field staking and management for many different project types. Throughout the years we have been involved in small single lot surveys to multi-million dollar developments. King Engineering has grown into a company that offers a set of engineering services that few other firms provide. With an experienced multi-disciplined staff and the use of new technology to rely on, we have the ability to successfully meet the most challenging engineering and surveying issues.

As the next generation of the King family prepares to continue the legacy built by Edwin and Jackie, King Engineering is always striving to match or exceed the expectations of their clients, while adhering to the best practices in the engineering and surveying industries. With a high percentage of our projects being repeat clientele it shows us that we have successfully kept with the original mindset set forth by Edwin and Jackie and we will continue with that mindset with every new project we are presented.
