The Danish word “Konservatoriet” (“conservatory”) is also the title of a famous ballet by the great ballet innovator, August Bournonville, whose
remarkable technique and performance style formed the foundation of The Royal Danish Ballet, and became the hallmark of the legendary Romantic Era of ballet dancing (c. 1825-1860). The reformations in ballet technique, professionalism and teaching ethics instilled by Bournonville elevated ballet to a respected art form of the highest order.
KONSERVATORIET studio was named in appreciation of Bournonville, and the remarkable legacy he left the world of dance.
