Liberty Root

Mission: To inspire resilience through regenerative food production, education, and advocacy by serving as a model homestead

A few years ago in a city much like yours, a group of young dreamers thought up a grand idea of creating a destination in the countryside where they could grow food, host friends, learn new skills, and explore the arts. They went on to discuss this at length with anyone that would listen and actually convinced a few folks to join them in their epic Liberty Root adventure.

Founded in 2012 Liberty Root's mission is to create a destination in the Appalachia Mountains where folks can access farm fresh produce, connect with friends and family through genuine human experiences, learn new skills, and explore the arts.

Today, those six dreamers, own 15 acres of land and a farmhouse, in Wild n' Wonderful West Virginia. They go by the names of Joey Bailey, Jason Beach, Kyle Burgess, Soma Chanda, Evan Papp and Jesse Wyner.

This beautiful homestead is located just west of Sleep Creek Wildlife Management Area in Morgan County, WV just 12 miles south of Berkeley Springs, WV and 22 miles north of Winchester, VA. Please plan to join us at Liberty Root Farm during one of our workshops or live music events in 2014. The farm is also available for rent through airbnb.com. We'll be happy to see you.
