Lost Coast Interpretive Association

Our focus is on education: education about the landscape, the geology, the plants and animals, and the cultures of the Lost Coast region.

The mission of the Lost Coast Interpretive Association is to inspire a passion for learning about, understanding and preserving the natural life of the Lost Coast in students, the local community and visitors.

Vision: We envision a time when residents and visitors understand, value and appreciate the unique environment of the Lost Coast region and reflect this in their personal lives.

Sharing this passion is what our programs are all about. We offer a natural science curriculum to schools and youth interns, and provide articles, lectures, hikes, and a Facebook page.

The Lost Coast Education Center will soon open at the King Range National Conservation Area office, where we will offer tours of our native garden, lectures, workshops and school field trips. We are working to establish a website in the near future.

Funding: Funding for our programs from grants from the Humboldt Area Foundation Tobin Family, Conservation Lands Foundation and the BLM.

We welcome private donations of any amount (please see the "Donate" section for details).

Partners: LCIA serves as a "friends" group, working closely with the BLM. We are part of the Conservation Lands Foundation network are a member of the Trees Foundation.
