Luv Ya Uvalde Organization; by way of an Annual Thanksgiving Dinner for the needy, a Christmas Show & gift distribution to the needy children of Uvalde

The tradition began in 1983, it was founded by Tommy and Pat Flores. They volunteered at the Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner and thought this would be nice to have a hot Thanksgiving Dinner for Senior Citizens of Uvalde and surrounding towns. It started with maybe 20 volunteers and served 100 people that first year. The dinner just grew and grew, the 20th year was the last that their family participated in. Genoveva Cobarrubia took over in 2003, with the help of Vic Hilderbran, daughter, Charlene Cobarrubia, and daughter-in-law, Leticia Hdz Cobarrubia. In 2011, Leticia and her Hernandez family took over. We have established an organization now and have over 20 members and growing each year. Our dream is to be able to help people in need all year long, not just for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are very thankful to everyone that donates/volunteers, without them we wouldn't be able to help others.
