About MainStreet
The Main Street strategy for commercial district revitalization involves comprehensive, simultaneous work in four areas. Main Street goals are accomplished by four corresponding committees.
Design: Improving the physical appearance of the commercial district – the buildings, streets, sidewalks, window displays, signs, parking, and all other aspects of the physical environment.
Promotion: Marketing the commercial district to neighborhood residents, investors, visitors, and others through promotional strategies.
Economic Restructuring: Strengthening and expanding the commercial district’s economic base through understanding current and future economic trends, realities, and opportunities.
Organization: Building collaborative partnerships between a broad range of groups, organizations and constituents who need to be involved in the decision making and implementation of Main Street revitalization efforts.
