Ambulance Operations
Tuolumne County Ambulance Service provides emergency and non-emergency medical transport services for Tuolumne County. Tuolumne County Ambulance Service takes an active role in analyzing program operations to improve Emergency Medical Services in our area.

History
Tuolumne County Ambulance became part of Human Services in July 1986, taking over operation of the Pinecrest ambulance. In April of 1987, Human Services added ambulance services for the rest of the county.

Currently, there are five ambulances available 24/7. One is stationed in Mono Vista on North Sunshine Road, two are in Sonora on Forest Road, one on Tuolumne Road, and one is in Groveland. A reserve fleet of six ambulances is used for non-emergency transfers, fire standby, and special events, and can be called into active duty on high volume days.

Manteca Ambulance Partnership
Since 1986, Manteca District Ambulance Service has directed the day to day operations of Tuolumne County Ambulance. Manteca Ambulance is the exclusive operator of the county’s ambulance service based on a contract awarded via an open bidding process, and provides all employees and management for Tuolumne County Ambulance. Manteca Ambulance is a private not for profit company that fits well into the Health Department.
