Henna art should be as unique as you. This is why I specialize in one-of-a-kind henna designs to be used just for you. Marigold Mehndi specializes in custom henna and mehndi designs with a focus on traditional Indian designs, contemporary, and Arabic styles.
What is Henna?
Henna is a paste applied to the skin for a temporary stain, commonly used as an alternative to permanent ink tattoos. Henna paste is made from a plant (called a Henna Tree) mixed with various essential oils; each artist may use a different recipe to mix their henna. The paste is then artfully applied to the skin to create intricate designs that last 2 to 4 weeks.
Henna has been used in many cultures for thousands of years; each region of the world has their own unique style of henna. Although predominantly used for special occasions, such as weddings or holidays, henna can also be applied just for fun.
Henna can also be used as a hair dye. The paste is applied directly to the hair and allowed to sit. After some time the hair will take on a reddish tint from the henna.
What is Mehndi?
Mehndi is the traditional Indian art of applying henna paste to the hands and feet. Mehndi is commonly applied to the bride and female family members and guests prior to a wedding. This is done to enhance the beauty of the women. In some traditions, the bridegroom will also be adorned with the intricate designs.
I use only the best quality henna for my designs. The paste is made from organic henna, lemon juice, clove oil, cajeput oil, and sugar. I never use other chemicals or unnatural additives that could harm the skin.
