The Musician Enlistment Option Program, or MEOP, guarantees qualified applicants duty assignment to the music program. Along with this guarantee, comes accelerated promotions and specialized musical training at the School of Music in Norfolk, VA.
Marine Corps Bands play a central role in preserving the culture and ceremonial traditions of the Marine Corps. They also serve as musical ambassadors, telling the Marine Corps story and instilling national pride and patriotism, by providing inspirational and entertaining musical performances for audiences across the United States and literally around the world. These professional musical organizations have provided thousands of Marines the opportunity to serve their country in a uniquely patriotic role while gaining skills and experience as musicians and as leaders.
