Here at Marquette Pediatric Dentistry we are a compassionate dental family specializing in the care of little teeth.

Dr. Erika knew it was her mission in life to be a care provider. As a teen she initially wanted to be a veterinarian but due a traumatizing experience decided that dentistry sounded more fun!
Dr. Erika started out as a dental assistant and then attended Lansing Community College to become a Registered Dental Hygienist. Deciding that she wanted to be a dentist, Dr. Erika went back to college and graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry; University of Michigan’s General Practice Residency (with an emphasis in treating special needs patients in the OR) and completed her Pediatric Residency at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where she served as chief resident.
After completing her formal education, Dr. Erika moved, along with her brilliant husband Nathan, and her two marvelous boys, Jakob and Isaak, to the beautiful Upper Peninsula to serve as the only Pediatric Dentist within a four hour drive. She worked alongside her mentor, Dr. Jim Hayward, at the Marquette Community Health Department Clinic for a year. After a long educational road, Erika Tyler D.D.S finally opened her dream pediatric practice in Marquette on June 16, 2008.
Dr. Erika has volunteered for multiple medical/dental trips to Honduras, the Commonwealth of Dominica and Alaska, and has been actively involved with Special Olympics for 22 years as a counselor, gymnastics coach, and Special Smiles care provider.
Dr. Erika has two stinky boxers, Moxie and Pablo. Dr. Erika loves to pick rocks looking for that perfect agate along the shores of Lake Superior, garden, read historical novels, practice yoga, and is working on bringing a dilapidated Victorian home back to its former glory.
