A resident of Youngsville, Matt Romero announced his candidacy for the Division C seat on the Youngsville City Council. Romero grew up in Lafayette where he graduated from Saint Thomas More Catholic High School, and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Matt and his family are members of Asbury United Methodist Church, as well as the RCAF Club, and the Krewe of Bonaparte.
“As one of the fastest growing cities in the south, Youngsville needs qualified leaders working hard for the best interest of its citizens. With rapid growth comes obstacles for our city, and those obstacles require constant attention. I plan to listen and communicate with each citizen, and give them a voice on our city council. I look forward to working hard for the city of Youngsville and to continue the positive expansion of our city.”
Romero is currently a Board Member of Cedar Hill Subdivision Home Owners Association; he has seven years of HOA experience, he has several years of coaching youth sports in different recreational leagues, and a member of the Youngsville Chamber of Commerce.
“As a Youngsville resident with children, I am committed to making sure our city continues to be a better place to live. If elected as the Division C Councilman, I will be dedicated to working for the best interest of our city.”
Matt is employed with IberiaBank as a consumer executive, his wife Jennifer is a public school teacher, and they have two children, Carleigh and Owen.
