In same location 38 years... Suddenly/wrongfully closed by the landlord December 13, 2013. Currently pursuing damages in Circuit Court of Monongalia County

John Lichter and Ann Lawson bought Maxwells from (owner of 25 yrs), Kim Ellis in July 2013. After extensive renovations they brought back the ol' Maxwells energy in a comfortable, environmentally sustainable setting. They brought back entertainment with "the Weedhawks" in September and reopened kitchen with Sunday Brunch October 15th. They experienced great support from new and old Maxwells customers. Marta also returned in October... On December 13, 2013, Maxwells was suddenly closed by the landlord. With Attorney John Angotti.. owners won injunction to prevent landlord form selling waht didn;t bleong to him. They also got court order from Judge Clawges to remove their property. Currently engaged in a civil case with both sides requesting a jury trial.. The owners and staff want to express their appreciation for the support. If they prevail, the owners hope to do something good for Morgantown.
