Emergency medical service (EMS) workers provide immediate medical attention during emergency situations. This fast-paced job is around the clock, so medical workers have irregular working hours and may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. Workers must be certified by the state where they work and requirements vary by state. Meade County in particular is required to have state and National certications. You can either be certified as an emergency medical technician or the more advanced option of a paramedic. Meade County currently has 3 full time 24 hour ALS units on at all times, and 2 call in units available as well. We have mutual aid agreements with our surrounding counties, Hardin, Breckenridge, and the community of Fort Knox.
Basic and Advanced Life support provided by State liscensed EMT's and Paramedics.
