Merrill Creek Reservoir is a 650-acre reservoir surrounded by a 290-acre Environmental Preserve and 2000 additional acres of woods and fields.
The Merrill Creek Reservoir is a 16-billion-gallon reservoir located approximately three-and-a-half miles east of the Delaware River in Warren County, northwestern New Jersey. It is owned and operated by a group of seven electric sector companies represented as the Merrill Creek Owners Group (MCOG).
The Merrill Creek Owners Group (MCOG) acquired the Merrill Creek Reservoir property through its agent, Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation in 1988. MCOG is comprised of Atlantic City Electric Company, Delmarva Power and Light Company (Delmarva), Jersey Central Power and Light Company (JCP&L), Metropolitan Edison Company (Met Ed), Reality Company of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO) * and Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) **.
