We are a farm located in Western North Carolina. We specialize in rasing White Dorper Sheep.
Our farm is located in the foothills of Western North Carolina. My name is Dale Sidden. My wife's name is Mary. Hence, our farm name of MerryDell Meadows was created. We are located very close to Stone Mountain State park.Our families have been in farming for years. When we decided to raise sheep we wanted to produce the very best animals possible. We decided that we wanted to produce meat sheep. We began searching what breed of sheep could best achieve our goals. We decided on the Dorper breed. We now raise percentage and purebred White Dorper Sheep. All of our foundation stock are registered through the American Dorper Sheep Breeders Society. Our focus is two pronged. We want to raise the very best breeding stock available for farms to improve their flocks. Secondly, we want to raise the very best meat we can for the commercial market. These two objectives go hand in hand. To raise the very best meat sheep one has to have the very best breed stock. The White Dorper was chosen for all of its good qualities. Its meat is mild and tender and produces excellent yields. It is prized in fine restaurants. The animals themselves are very humble and easy to tend to. We are very pleased with our decision to go with Dorper.
