Metabolic Effect is a natural health, fitness and fat loss company that teaches the key lifestyle factors that lead to real and sustained body change. Our acronym, ME, points to the individual approach we take to all we do. Every person is as different on the inside chemically as they are on the outside physically. Our programs are built to fit the individual and do not force the individual to adjust to us.

Our dietary principles are based on several things:

1) The shared physiological processes of all humans and the way we evolved for millions of years. Basically that our collective metabolisms are more tuned to the dietary principles of our hunter gatherer ancestors who were omnivores and opportunists who ate high vegetable & high protein diets, but who thrived on wide ranging nutritional strategies. The one common theme of all of these diets were that lower in starchy foods, sugar and did not include processed foods.

2) The second principle is that we are each uniquely different in metabolic processes despite having overlapping tendencies, and that evolution is ongoing. We each have a different sensitivity to starch and other dietary compounds and we must work to understand and honor these differences adjusting our intake to match these needs.

3) There is value in all nutritional practices and there are those who thrive on all of them from Vegan to Paleo. So, we do NOT take sides related to dietary choices, but rather seek to help people find their own metabolic formula, the unique set of dietary inputs that delivers optimal health, fitness and fat loss for that person.

The above principles are combined and defined in the context of using body composition/fat loss (the number one risk factor for all chronic disease) as a surrogate marker for optimal Health and function.
