For more than 50 years, the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) has served as one of the nation's leading philanthropy organizations. Throughout the years, Miami Valley CFC has ranked among the top nationwide CFCs addressing local and global community needs.
CFC is the annual workplace charitable giving campaign for the
Department of Defense (DoD) and Federal workforce. Contributions support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human welfare benefits. Since its inception in 1961, DoD and Federal employees have contributed more than $7 billion through CFC.
The 2014 campaign starts Oct. 1 and runs through Nov. 14 with the annual Charity Fair and Kick-off celebration on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at Wright State's Nutter Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Nearly 28,000 Federal government employees work in Miami Valley CFC's11-county region. It is estimated that 25,000 retirees from the Federal workforce live in the Miami Valley.
